This is an original oil painting by Pat Alderson. This is an ongoing theme for me. I continue to work on new ways to represent color. In this painting I experimented with a violet glaze over an ocher under painting. I think it captures the color of asphalt quite well. I also enjoy working with aerial views of street scenes which I believe presents the viewer with interesting angles not normally seen from street level.
This painting is done on stretched linen over a 3/4 in thick stretcher. The sides are finished neatly so it could hang on the wall as is. You can also have it framed or ask me about options for purchasing a handmade frame from my own workshop.
